Jane Crampton

Jane Ann Crampton was born April 28, 1928, the daughter of Matthew and Clare Aylward Brogan. She passed away Monday, July 29, 2013, at St. Anthony Nursing Home in Carroll, Iowa, at the age of 85.
Jane was born in Vail, Iowa. She received her education in the St. Ann Catholic Schools graduating with the class of 1946. She was united in marriage to Jess (Bud) Crampton on April 24, 1948, at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Vail, Iowa. The couple settled in Vail and was blessed with the birth of nine children.
Jane kept busy at home raising her family and loved to cook and bake for them. There was always a good snack waiting for them when they arrived home from school. Jane took care of a big garden, raising and canning fruit and vegetables. She enjoyed attending her children and grandchildren’s sporting events and Brian and his family’s motocross races. Jane always had time to play cards with her grandchildren when they came to visit and no one went away hungry as she always had food ready for her visitors. Going fishing with the family at Lake View and shopping were other fun activities Jane enjoyed.
Jane was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jess in 1996; four sisters: Marilyn Brennan; Betty Kwasniewski; Leila Sawatzki; and Rhea Gawerecki; one brother, Charles Brogan. Survivors include nine children: Tom Crampton and his wife, Reta; Mark Crampton and his wife, Jane; all of Vail, Iowa; Dale Crampton and special friend, Kim Eifler of Carroll, Iowa; and Brian Crampton and his wife, Jackie of Vail, Iowa; Ann Arens and her husband, Larry of Crofton, Nebraska; Joan Schlie and her husband, John of Carroll; Mary Oostra and her husband Dean of Hull, Iowa; Theresa Stuhr and her husband, Dave of Manson, Iowa; and Karen O’Leary and her husband, Sean of Carroll; 26 Grandchildren; 25 Great-grandchildren; one brother, Joe Brogan and his wife, LaVonne of Sergeant Bluff, Iowa; and two sisters: Bonnie Tucker and her husband, Leo of Omaha, Nebraska; and Nancy Banducci of Bakersfield, California; other relatives and friends.
