Joyce Muff

Joyce Eileen Muff was born April, 4, 1947, the daughter of Emery and Mildred Emmeck. She passed away Friday, January 2, 2015, at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha at the age of sixty-seven.
Joyce was born in Fort Dodge, Iowa. She attended High School in Rockwell City, Iowa, graduating Valedictorian of her class in 1965. After graduation she attended Morningside College in Sioux City, graduating in 1969, Magna Cum Laude. On December 22, 1967, she was united in marriage to Walden Paige, the couple was blessed with the birth of one son. Joyce then continued her education at University of Iowa, receiving her Masters Degree in Social Work which led to her position as Master Social Worker in Mason City from 1980 to 1990. She then moved to Denison, Iowa, where she was Director of Mental Health at the West Iowa Mental Health Center from 1990 to 1993. In 1993, Joyce began teaching at Western Iowa Tech and Buena Vista University in Denison. On November 27, 1993, Joyce was united in marriage to Joseph Muff.
Joyce was a loving mother and wife who took great pride in her work and education, learning was a life long passion. She was a licensed social worker in Nebraska and Iowa.. In her spare time she could be found reading history books about President Lincoln, the Civil War, and watching the History Channel, especially Ken Burns documentaries. Joyce also enjoyed gardening and farming.
Preceded in death by: her parents; and one sister, Nadine. Survivors include: her husband, Joseph; one son, Josh; nieces and nephews: Lori Ann and her husband, Sean; Jeffrey and his wife, Ruth; Danielle and Derrick; and Austin and Conner; other relatives and friends.
