Linda Brodersen

Linda Brodersen was born to July 27, 1949 the daughter of Raymond and Verla Sump Kluender. She died Sunday, May 4, 2014, at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska, at the age of sixty-four.
Linda was born in Cherokee, Iowa, where she lived until moving with her family to Denison, Iowa, in 1956. She was baptized and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church in 1966. She received her education in the Denison Community Schools and graduated from the Denison Community High School with class of 1967. Linda was a Drum Majorette through her high school years. She was united in marriage to Larry Brodersen, March 29, 1969, at Zion Lutheran Church in Denison. The couple made their home on a farm near Charter Oak and was blessed with the birth of two sons. After completing her education she worked for a short time as a librarian for the Denison Community High School. After her marriage she worked at Eventide for a few years, before working several years at Alco. In 1992 Linda began her career at Wal-Mart, she retired in 2012, after working for 20 years as a Department Manager.
Linda was a excellent seamstress. She made a lot of her own clothes and won the Best in Show contest at the Crawford County Fair. She was a 4-H leader for eleven years at the Charter Oak Boosters, and took great pride in seeing the kids excel with their projects. She was also a very good cook, enjoyed gardening, canning and working in the yard. In her leisure time she enjoyed camping at Yellowsmoke Park. During her retirement she enjoyed just being at home, watching her favorite television programs, especially “Days of Our Lives” and spending time with her grandchildren. In the spring of 2009, she was diagnosed with breast cancer. She put up a good fight and never wanted to give up.
Linda is preceded in death by her father Raymond Kluender; father-in-law and mother-in-law Eldon and Muriel Brodersen. Survivors include: her husband Larry of Charter Oak; two sons Aaron Brodersen and his wife, Tani of Charter Oak; Brian Brodersen and his wife, Bonnie of Denison; four grandchildren, Carter, Cambri, Garrett and Tayla; her mother Verla Kluender of Denison; four brothers, Ronald Kluender and his wife, Judy of Osceola, Iowa; Troy Kluender and his wife, Kris of Schleswig, Iowa; Kyle Kluender and his wife, Michelle of Humbolt, Iowa; Karl Kluender and his wife, Pamela of Huxley, Iowa; other relatives and friends.
