Dale Meyer

November 21, 1944 — June 24, 2013

Dale Edward Meyer was born November 21, 1944, the son of Edward and Melvina Gehlsen Meyer. He passed away, Monday, June 24, 2013, at Creighton University Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska, at the age of 68.
Dale was born in Carroll, Iowa. He received his education in the ArWeVa Community Schools graduating with the class of 1963. After high school Dale worked for area farmers for a couple years and then went to work for Farmland Foods where he remained for 40 years until retiring in 2006. Dale was united in marriage to Lois Beermann on June 10, 1986, in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
In his early days Dale liked riding motorcycles and would go to Vancouver to board the ferry to California and then take a road trip on his bike back home. To say the least, he was an outdoorsman and enjoyed fishing trips to Minnesota, Canada, and the cabin in Okoboji to relax. He loved anything to do with antique tractors from restoring and collecting 19 of them, to driving them in tractor shows, participating in tractor rides throughout the countryside, or old thrasher conventions in Iowa and Minnesota. Dale was a member of the Green Ridge Association and the Five-Mile House and Schuetzen Verein Club near Westside. Dale served as a member of the Dow City Volunteer Fire Department for 15 years. His favorite music to listen to was country western and he and Lois enjoyed polka dances. He was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Dow City.
Dale was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Gene. Survivors include his wife, Lois of Dow City; one son, Chad Feser and his fianc, Amy of Carroll, Iowa; two daughters: Stacy Kimpson and her husband, Matt of Carroll; and Trish DeLong and her husband, Michael of Denison; one granddaughter, Grace Kimpson of Carroll; other relatives and friends.
