Linda Lou Dean was born October 6, 1963, the daughter of Marvin and Judy Kraft Solko. She passed away Monday, June 17, 2013, at the Creighton Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska, at the age of 49.
Linda was born in Battle Creek, Iowa. She received her education in the Sutherland Community Schools graduating with the class of 1983. After high school Linda worked at IBP in Storm Lake, Iowa, for a couple years, then moved to Lake of the Ozarks and worked at a restaurant for a few years and finally settled in Denison for the last 20 years.
Linda liked to be outside and enjoyed yardwork, flower and vegetable gardening, walking, and picnics at Tuckers Park. Linda collected Betty Boop memorabilia including purses, photos, statues, and her steering wheel cover. Linda enjoyed cooking, listening to soft rock music, bowling, craft work, watching movies on TV, playing the dice game, Farkel, with her son, and going to the tanning salon. She was a very loving, caring, and generous person with her time and money for anyone needing help. She liked to visit with her family and friends in small group settings. Her dogs, Lily and Honey were very special to her.
Linda was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Raymond and LaVera Kraft; paternal grandfather, Roman Solko; and stepgrandfather, Clarence Fletcher. Survivors include her two children: Dalton Jones of Denison, Iowa; and Katee Dean of Fort Dodge, Iowa; her parents, Marvin & Judy Solko of Calumet, Iowa; two brothers: Robert Solko and his wife Jani; and Brian Kraft and his wife, Diane, all of Cherokee, Iowa; one sister, Nickole Sleezer and her husband, Dana of Aurelia, Iowa; paternal grandmother, Darlene Fletcher of Cherokee; her soulmate, Gary VandenHull of Denison and his children: Diana Bauer and husband, Rick of Odessa, Texas; and Kacie VandenHull and her special friend, Ian Ward of Omaha, Nebraska; other relatives and friends.
