Margaret Keesling

Margaret Rose Keesling was born October 18, 1927, the daughter of Paul and Rose Christiansen. She passed away Sunday, March 31, 2013, at Mercy Hospital in Council Bluffs, Iowa, at the age of 85.
Margaret was born in Arion, Iowa. She received her education in the Denison Community Schools graduating with the class of 1946. On October 6, 1946, Margaret was united in marriage to Earl Keesling at Zion Lutheran Church by Rev. C. W. Schmidt and to this union was born seven children. She worked as a Nurses Aid at the Crawford County Hospital in Denison for 29 years.
Margaret enjoyed caring for her family and the times they spent together. She reared her family with a strong Christian faith and values. She loved to cook for them and her breads, pumpkin and apple pies, and strawberry delight were the best in Crawford County. Margaret liked to socialize with friends and play Bingo, bowl on a league, play cards such as Euchre or Pinocle, or with those in her Canasta Club. Cribbage was another favorite game to play in her spare time. She and Earl enjoyed fishing and were blessed to be able to travel to 48 of the 50 U.S. States. Margaret was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Deloit and the Ladies Aid group.
Margaret was preceded in death by her parents; and one sister, Laura Christiansen. She is survived by her husband, Earl of Denison; seven children: Stephen Keesling and his wife, Jackie; and Paula Segebart and her husband, Jerry; all of Deloit; Gary Keesling and his wife, Deb of Denison; Denise Wimer and her husband, Lynn of Conroe, Texas; Dawn Berrier and her husband, Mark of Deloit; Loren Keesling of Denison; and Kevin Keesling and his wife, Cassandra of Des Moines, Iowa; fourteen grandchildren; twenty-three great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; two step grandchildren; thirteen step great-grandchildren; and six step great-great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
