Abraham Deng Wol was born on July 20, 1982, to Wol Akot and Adut Biar Kolong in Marial Bai, Sudan. Due to the civil war between North Sudan and South Sudan, starting in 1983, it became a very dangerous place for children to live. In 1987, Abraham fled to Ethiopia where he became a refugee. After about four years in Ethiopia, it also became flooded with wars of rebels. Abraham then made the decision to flee to Kenya where he, again, became a refugee. The United Nations came to an agreement with the United States of America to free the young boys of the struggles and grant them with safe living. In 2005, Abraham moved to America and wanted the better life. He took classes at Des Moines Area Community College.
Abraham worked various jobs in Iowa, including: Smithfield in Denison, Monogram in Harlan and Seaboard Triumph Foods in Sioux City. Abraham enjoyed listening to music. He was a very giving man and was always contributing to better other people's lives.
Abraham passed away on April 28, 2023, in Sioux City, Iowa at the age of 40 years, nine months and eight days.
