Adam John Gosch was born on March 10, 1963, the son of Nancy (Rubendall) Rogers in Iowa City, Iowa. He was baptized and later confirmed into the Lutheran faith. Adam received his education from Denison Community School graduating with the class of 1981.
Adam proudly served his country as a member of the United States National Guard from 1981 to 1983, exemplifying bravery and commitment during his time in service. On April 3, 1993, he married Carla Tornow at Zion Lutheran Church in Denison, and though their paths diverged, the memories of their union remain a big part of his story.
Throughout his career, Adam dedicated himself to various roles at Farmland, Boyer Valley Rendering, and Ampride. He especially took pride in his work at Jim’s DX as he enjoyed working in the public and helping others. Adam found joy in the simple pleasures of nature. He had a passion for fishing, mushroom hunting, and motorcycle riding, embodying the spirit of an outdoorsman. He was a very proud father and grandfather and enjoyed spending time with his family.
Adam was a man of strong faith, finding solace and strength in his beliefs throughout his life. He was a kind soul who had a big heart that he shared with everyone he came in contact with. He would give the shirt off of his back to a complete stranger in need. His contagious smile and goofy personality brought laughter to everyone in his presence. He had a way of making light of even the lowest of moments always cracking jokes and being ornery. Adam’s presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Adam passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 16, 2024, at Gracewell – Eventide Lutheran Home in Denison, IA at the age of 61 years, 4 months, and 6 days. Adam was preceded in death by his mother.
