Alvin Bert Wareberg was born August 28, 1941, at Irwin, Iowa, the son of Julius and Bernice Wareberg. He passed away March 9, 2018, at his home in Denison, Iowa, at the age of seventy-six.
Alvin received his education in the Irwin schools and graduated from Irwin High School. After high school, he served his country by entering the Army National Guard February 25, 1961. He then served as an electrical navigation equipment repairman in the Air Force, stationed at the Strategic Air Command at Ellsworth Air Force Base, South Dakota from May 15, 1962, until May 13, 1966, when he was honorably discharged and awarded the Air Force Good Conduct Medal.. He later continued his education at Northwest Missouri State College in Maryville, Missouri, where he received a bachelor’s degree and than began his teaching career.
Playing cards, especially Euchre, and billiards, snooker and 8 ball were his favorite pastime activities. He also enjoyed playing games on the computer, word scramble games and watching game shows. Socializing with friends and past students also brought him great pleasure.
He is survived by one sister, Nancy and her husband, Dennis; three nieces, Cydnie and husband, Scott, Carrie and husband, Jeffrey, and Elaine and husband, Kenneth; one cousin, Edwin, Iowa; other relatives and friends.
