Becky Sue Jepsen

Becky Sue (Swanson) Jepsen was born on May 30, 1954 in Carroll, Iowa. The third of ten children born to Richard and Shirley (Schroeder) Swanson. She was baptized in Christ on July 26, 1962 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Manilla. She attended Manilla Community School and graduated in 1972.

On February 9, 1974, Becky was united in marriage to Roger Jepsen at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Denison. To this union, three children were born. She was confirmed on October 3, 1982 when she joined St. John Lutheran Church in Charter Oak where she has been a faithful member since.

Becky worked outside the home at Albertsen's Flower Shop and Wendt's Pots and Posies. She was a chairperson for the American Red Cross in Charter Oak for several years. She also taught Sunday School and a greeter at church.

One of her many loves was making people smile and always saying, "Glad you could see me!" Her most important love was her faith, family, and friends. This was evident when she did crafts that she always gave away to her special friends or family. She enjoyed knitting, quilting, wood work, freedom rocks, wine weekends, thunderstorms that rattled the windows, and most of all, spoiling her grandchildren.

Becky passed away peacefully at her home in Dunlap, surrounded by her family on Saturday, October 22, 2022 at the age of 68 years, 4 months, and 22 days. She was preceded in death by her parents; mother and father-in-law, Fred and Elizabeth Jepsen; sister, Wanda Andreasen; and sister-in-law, Julie Swanson.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Roger Jepsen of Dunlap; children: Jason Jepsen and his wife Kelli of Mountain Lake, Minnesota, Hollie Stone of Carroll, and Jeremy Jepsen and his wife Kerry of Atlantic; grandchildren: Aleesha, Jesse, Baylee and Mareena Jepsen, Pallavi, Sara, Megan, and Juli Shattuck, Zoie Stone, Korbin Jepsen, Vincent Meisinger, and Preston Jepsen; siblings: Dennis (Virginia) Swanson of Glenwood, Steve (Carol) Swanson of Manilla, Dale Swanson of Manning, Dan Swanson of Creston, Rod Swanson of Manilla, Duane "Arnold" (Lisa) Swanson of Council Bluffs, Gerald (Brenda) Swanson of Manilla, and Angie Swanson of Creston; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A Memorial Service will be at 11:00 a.m. with a visitation one hour prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 28, 2022 at St. John Lutheran Church in Charter Oak. Memorials may be directed to the family for later distribution in Becky's name.
