Betty Meyer

May 21, 1948 — November 27, 2025

Holstein

Betty Rozella Meyer was born on May 21, 1948, in Cherokee, Iowa, to John and Rozella (Endrulat) Bauman. She grew up in Holstein, Iowa, where she attended school and graduated with the Class of 1966.

Betty was first married to Kenneth Lorenzen and two children were born to this union. She later married the love of her life, Larson Meyer, and together they were blessed with two more children.

For over 20 years, Betty devoted herself to caring for others through her work at the Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Holstein.

Betty had many joys in life. She loved collecting bears, reading, and playing cards with her family—especially Euchre. She enjoyed crafting and baking, including ice cream and cakes, and was well known for her famous Oreo pudding. More than anything, Betty cherished the time she spent with her grandchildren.

Betty passed away on Thursday, November 27, 2025, at the Denison Care Center, having attained the age of 77 years, six months, and six days.

In addition to her parents, John and Rozella “Rosie” Bauman, she was preceded in death by her husband, Larson Meyer and nephew, Aaron Bauman.

Left to cherish her memory are her children: Cindy Meyer, Gloria (Craig) Todd, Barbara Stankey, Richard Lorenzen, Deb (Jason) Gross, Dustin (Angela) Meyer, and Jenny Hoge; her grandchildren: Victoria, Crystal, Earle, Matthew, Cammy, Stacey, Larson, Adrian, Larry, Kara, Nicholas, Joshua, Andrew, Logan, Sydney, Dakota and Gracie; great-grandchildren; her siblings: Robert (Vicki) Bauman, Karen (Lee) LeWon, her twin brother Terry (Sandy) Bauman, and John (Phyllis) Bauman; along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
