Bruce Allen Petersen was born on March 6, 1966, in Denison, Iowa, the son of Robert and Virginia (Lackman) Petersen. He received his education from Twentynine Palms High School, graduating in 1984. Following his graduation, Bruce enlisted in the United States Navy.

On May 29, 2011, Bruce was united in marriage with Vicky King in Everett, Washington State. Bruce was  employed at IBP in Denison for many years. Additionally, Bruce ventured into property management alongside his wife. Together they managed numerous properties with great care and attention to detail.

Outside of work and family life, Bruce had a zest for adventure and loved spending time outdoors. Fishing and camping were among his favorite activities; he found solace in nature's embrace. Furthermore, Bruce enjoyed playing Bingo, cards, and marbles as hobbies that brought him joy and entertainment. However, above all else, he treasured moments shared with his family.

Bruce passed away on Sunday, October 8, 2023, at the age of 57 years, 7 months, and 2 days. He was surrounded by loved ones in the comfort of his home at the time of his passing.

He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Petersen and infant brother, Joseph Petersen. He is survived by his wife, Vicky King of Denison; two daughters: Gabrielle (Michael) Lehman of Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania and Genevieve (Travis) Garrison of Enola, Pennsylvania; one granddaughter, Zoe Lehman; mother, Virginia Petersen of Denison; three sisters: Bobbie (Nick) Velasquez of Joshua Tree, California, Mary (Tad) Deck of Quentin, Pennsylvania, and Carrie (Gene) Ellis of Denison; two brothers-in-law: Harlan King of Denison and Kenneth King of Denison; three nephews: Colby (Jolene) Ellis, Blake Rhoads, and Matt Deck; two nieces: Diana Deck and Jessica Deck; two great-nieces: Kaylah and Olivia Deck; one great-nephew, Landon Deck; many other relatives and friends.

Per Bruce’s wishes, he will be cremated and there won’t be any services at this time.
