Dale Henry Ewoldt

Dale Henry Ewoldt was born on September 3, 1949, in Denison, Iowa and was the son of Albert and LaVerna (Ullrich) Ewoldt.  He was baptized and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church in Denison. He grew up on the family farm south of Vail. Dale attended elementary school and high school at Ar-We-Va and graduated with the class of 1967. He then attended Iowa State University majoring in Farm Operations. He often talked about his college days at Iowa State where he made a lot of life long friends. He began farming with his father. A few years later he purchased the Ewoldt Century Farm near Manning, Iowa.

Dale was always passionate about farming and agriculture. He enjoyed going to the farm sales, auctions, swap meets and flea markets. He was always a regular at the sale barn on Saturday mornings in search of a treasure.

He bred and raised Collie dogs. He loved his dogs and they were always by his side. He enjoyed sports, especially Iowa State Football and Basketball. He enjoyed watching westerns, the Pickers and shows from the 50’s and 60’s. He had quite a sense of humor and always had a comment ready to go. Dale was very caring and came into town every day to have coffee with his sister, Diane, who is home bound.

Dale passed away on Friday, May 3, 2024 at Dunlap Assisted Living having attained the age of 74 years and eight months. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Dennis Ewoldt.

Dale is survived by his sisters: Diane Edgar of Denison and Darlys Ewoldt of Chicago, Illinois, and a brother, Dean (Barbara) Ewoldt of Humboldt; nephews: Christian Ewoldt of Altoona and Gordon Edgar of Atlanta, Georgia; niece, Amanda (Brian) Hodgell of McAllistar, Oklahoma; seven great nieces and nephews; many other relatives and friends.
