Dean David Danielson was born on November 6, 1941, the son of Floyd and Velva (Neville) Danielson in Sac City, Iowa. He was baptized and later confirmed his faith at Bethel Lutheran Church in Kiron. Dean received his education from Odebolt High School and graduated with the class of 1960. Following his education, Dean enlisted into the United States Army. He was a military policeman and guarded the missile sights in Lincoln, Nebraska with his K9. He received his honorable discharge in 1964. He then spent some time working construction.
Dean married Susan Gunderson on March 17, 1967, at Zion Lutheran Church in Denison and they were blessed with three children: Daren, Danielle and Debra. Dean worked at Van Top in Holstein for a couple years. The family then relocated and made their home in Denison, where he continued his professional journey at Farmland until his well-deserved retirement after 33 years of service.
Dean found joy in the simple pleasures of life. Whether he was engaged in a game of Euchre with his friends or showcasing his skilled woodworking abilities, his dedication and enthusiasm were always evident. He enjoyed fishing and was a proud supporter of the Iowa Hawkeyes Football team. His passion for sports was surpassed only by his deep love for his family. Dean cherished every moment spent with his grandchildren, creating lasting memories that will be treasured forever. Those who knew him best will fondly remember him for his quick wit, jovial nature, and storytelling. His ability to bring joy and laughter to any gathering was unmatched. Dean's greatest wish was for people to forgive, forget, and foster harmony amongst each other.
Dean passed away at his home on Wednesday, July 3, 2024, at the age of 82 years, seven months and 27 days.
