Ms. Deanna Kay Gottsch, 60, of O’Fallon, Missouri, passed away on May 1, 2026 at her home. She was born on March 9, 1966 in Carroll, Iowa to Dean Alan and Linda Clare (Peterson) Gottsch. Deanna graduated from Storm Lake (Iowa) High School in 1985. Other than being employed at the Storm Lake Hy-Vee deli during her high school days, Deanna spent the entirety of her career working with children. She was a nanny for over 30 years, with stops in Washington, DC, New York City, Minneapolis, Minnesota, Des Moines, Iowa, and St. Louis, Missouri. Her last stop in her career led her to be the kitchen manager at Faith Academy in Weldon Spring, Missouri.
Deanna was a true Disney afficionado. She spent the majority of her vacations travelling to Orlando, Florida with family members to take it all in. While she truly loved the atmosphere that Disney provided, what made her the happiest was to see the smile on kids’ faces. Not one for the spotlight, Deanna liked to stay in the background. Nevertheless, she managed to touch countless lives for the better. “Aunt Dee’s” generosity was well-known. She would go shopping and come across something and think, “So-and-so would love this,” and would buy it for them. With this in mind, she had some of the most spoiled nieces and nephews in the Midwest. She would always strive to make celebrations truly special. Her cheesy potatoes were often imitated, but never duplicated. Whenever family would come to visit, they always seemed to gravitate to “Trader Dee’s” to see what she had for them. Her generous heart was much like that of her savior, Jesus. Above all, she wanted to please Him in all that she did.
She is survived by her mother Linda Gottsch of O’Fallon, MO; sisters Charlotte Gottsch of O’Fallon, MO, Angela (Brian) Grindstaff of O’Fallon, MO, and Donda Gottsch of Wentzville, MO; a brother, Aaron (Debbie) Gottsch of O’Fallon, MO, and 11 nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from Thursday , May 7, 2026 from 2 p.m. - 3 p.m. at Troy First Assembly of God Church, Troy , MO.
Funeral will also be held on Thursday , May 7, 2026 at Troy First Assembly of God Church at 3 p.m. Pastor Joseph Britain to officiate. Interment - Monday , May 11, 2026 at 11 a.m. at Westside Cemetery Westside , Iowa.
