Delores Dohse

DeLores Cena Dohse was born December 5, 1930, the daughter of Henry and Hilda Jepsen Schneller. She died Thursday, September 9, 2010, at the Regency Park Nursing and Rehab in Carroll, Iowa, at the age of seventy-nine.
DeLores was born in Denison, Iowa. She attended rural school near her home and Deloit High School. She worked at Revers Caf and then at Cronks Restaurant. On August 7, 1949, she was united in marriage to Reed Dohse at Zion Lutheran Church in Denison. The couple was blessed with the birth of two sons.
She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Farming was the only life she really knew and she loved working alongside of her husband and sons. Family was very important to her. Her great-grandchildren brought her much joy and she loved sharing what was going on in their little lives. She enjoyed watching the markets , news programs, especially CNN and Chris Mathews. She also enjoyed Wheel of Fortune, Lawrence Welk and QVC. She was involved in various organizations including serving as President of Farm Bureau for many years, a member of the Red Hat Society, and a member of the Democratic Caucus. She was very active in politics. Her love of God was never questioned. He was her rock and she loved Him deeply.
DeLores was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Reed in 1991; a granddaughter, Mindy; and a great-grandson, Jacob. Survivors include two sons: Terry Dohse and his wife, Linda; and Tom Dohse, all of Westside; one granddaughter, Miranda Miller and her husband, Brian of Vail; three great-grandchildren, Reed, Ryan and Kathryn of Vail; two sisters: Lorraine Aschinger and her husband, Marlin of Deloit, Iowa; Emy Lou McComb and her husband, Kay of Vail; three brothers: Ron Schneller and his wife Dorothy of Camanche, Iowa; Henry Schneller and his wife, Pat; and Robert Schneller and his wife, Myrna, all of Punta Gorda, Florida; one sister-in-law, Anita Groen of Denison; many nephews and nieces; other relatives and friends.
