Dennis Gibson

Dennis LaVern Gibson was born on March 27, 1935, to LaVern "Buck" and Nellie (Brasel) Gibson in Dow City, Iowa. He was baptized into the Methodist faith and graduated from Dow City High School.

Dennis made his career as a manager for Shavers and Baker's Grocery Stores in Omaha, Nebraska. He was blessed with two sons, Michael and Mark.

An avid fisherman, Dennis especially enjoyed spending time outdoors.

Dennis passed away on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at Bergan Mercy Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska, at the age of 91 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Michael Gibson; and his siblings, Gene Gibson, Robert Gibson, and Alice Michaelsen.

Left to cherish his memory are his son, Mark (Sandra) Gibson of Omaha, Nebraska; grandchildren: Justin (Jaime) of Elkhorn and Jaimie (Michael) of Austin, Texas; and six great-grandchildren.

Services will be held privately with the family in the Dow City Cemetery.
