Erwin Moeller

June 30, 1936 — July 26, 2026

Erwin “Ervie” John Moeller was born June 30, 1936, the son of John and Edna (Hildebrandt) Moeller in Denison, Iowa. He was baptized and confirmed at the Zion Lutheran Church in Denison, by Rev. Schmidt. Ervie received his education from the Denison High School and graduated with the class of 1954.

On February 1, 1959, Ervie was united in marriage to Margaret (Margie) Groth at Friedens Evangelical & Reformed Church in Schleswig, Iowa, officiated by Rev. Walter Baumgartner. In this marriage they had four children Denise, Marcia, Galyn and Karla. Ervie entered the National Guard, where he became a sergeant. Growing up Ervie loved working by his father’s side on the farm. Also later working side by side with Heney Eggert, his dear neighbor. He worked driving truck for Huebner Trucking. After marriage, he and Margie started farming together, raising livestock and crops. Ervie was known for his custom shelling, and his calendar was always booked. He enjoyed helping his shelling customers because he could not just stand around. He shelled three million bushels of corn for his customers. Besides shelling, he customed drilled crops and fed out hogs. Ervie loved his church and when he was younger, he attended every service just in case he needed to usher. He and Margie enjoyed bowling, square dancing and playing in card clubs.
