Gwen Lingle

Gwen Eve Plain Lingle was born on August 8, 1945, to Levi and Lucille (Ang) Plain. She graduated from high school in Odebolt, Iowa.

Gwen was united in marriage to Gerald Christensen. She later married Darwin Lingle, and together they made their home in Dow City, Iowa. Throughout her life, Gwen was a hardworking and resourceful woman. She worked in upholstery in Denison, assisted with wallpapering and painting as a side business, and alongside Darwin, co-owned and operated a limousine service.

Gwen passed away on January 2, 2026, at the Denison Care Center in Denison, Iowa, at the age of 80 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters, Joyce Kuhen, Lois Jane Hester and Beatrice Sparks; and her brothers, Laramie, Elmer, Harry, and Dennis Plain.

Gwen is lovingly remembered by her siblings: Leaworth (Laura) Plain, Emily Winsor, Genevieve (Rick) Carlyle, Isabella Blalock, Luther (Jane) Plain, and Frank (Georgia Ann) Plain; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

Graveside services will be held by the family on Saturday, April 11, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. at Crawford Heights Memory Gardens in Denison.
