Jacqueline North

October 8, 1944 — September 28, 2025

Dow City

Jacqueline Ann North was born on October 8, 1944, to Raymond and Edith (Coulson) Boger in Irlam, England. When she was 15 months old, she journeyed with her mother on the Queen Mary to the United States, where they reunited with Raymond. The family settled in Lake City, Iowa, where Jacqueline grew up and attended school, graduating with the Class of 1962. After high school, she worked as a telephone operator in Carroll before her marriage.

On November 11, 1962, after a blind date brought them together, Jacqueline was united in marriage to Glenn North at Pilgrim Lutheran Church in Lake City. The couple was blessed with three children: Pam, Deb, and Nathaniel. They first made their home in Dow City before moving to a farm outside of Dow City in January of 1970.

A devoted homemaker, Jacqueline also worked for many years outside the home. She spent 19 years at Dairy Queen in Denison before retiring and later worked at Deb’s Deli to keep busy. During her years as a faithful member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Dow City, volunteering her time to Vacation Bible School, teaching Sunday school, and taking part in Ladies Aid.

Jacqueline found joy in many things: listening to Elvis and George Strait music, savoring a hot cup of tea with plenty of sugar, baking banana bars, enjoying a good piece of chocolate, and nurturing a love of reading that began in her youth. She enjoyed British comedies, The Lawrence Welk Show, Keeping Up Appearances, and House Hunters. She and her family shared a love of traveling to visit Deb at her various United States Air Force assignments, particularly special family trips to Utah in August 2023 and August 2025. One of her most memorable trips was to England to see her birthplace. Above all, she treasured time spent with her family.

Jacqueline passed away on Sunday, September 28, 2025, at the Denison Care Center, having attained the age of 80 years, 11 months, and 20 days. She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Edith Boger; her husband, Glenn North; infant sister, Jean Elizabeth Boger; and brother-in-law, Rick Davis.

Left to cherish her memory are her children: Pam (Aaron) Terwilleger of Dow City, Deb North of Layton, Utah, and Nathaniel North of Dow City; four grandchildren: Celesta (Larry) Frazier, John (Carmen) Terwilleger, Amber (Matt) Bissen, and Kathryn North; seven great-grandchildren: Austin, Loren, Kelby, Brooklyn, Rhett, Ben, and Elsa; her sister, Brenda Davis of Altoona; her brother, Richard (Carol) Boger of Ankeny; along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
