Janet May Beeck was born on November 13, 1939, in Denison, Iowa, the daughter of Melvin and Clara (Clausen) Teut. She was baptized on December 10, 1939, at Immanuel Lutheran Soldier Township and later confirmed on May 24, 1953, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Schleswig. Janet graduated from Schleswig High School with the Class of 1958 and went on to attend CE School of Commerce in Omaha, where she studied administration.

On November 1, 1959, Janet was united in marriage to Robert Beeck at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Schleswig. Together they were blessed with three children and made their home on the Teut family farm near Schleswig. Janet worked alongside her husband as a farmer, where she especially enjoyed field work and driving the tractor, which she always kept spotless. After long days in the fields and completing farm chores, Janet would come inside to prepare warm meals, do laundry and ironing, and maintain a tidy home, all before taking her four-mile nightly walk. She loved staying busy and was a true multitasker, whether she was unloading grain bins or pulling weeds in the garden. In addition to her work on the farm, Janet was employed at Terra Chemicals in Schleswig and later served faithfully as the church secretary at Immanuel Lutheran Church until her well-deserved retirement.

Janet was a faithful member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Schleswig and the Ladies Aid. In her free time, she enjoyed gardening and working on puzzles. She loved playing cards and belonged to four different card clubs throughout her life. In her younger years, she and Bob also enjoyed polka dancing. Above all else, Janet cherished time spent with her family and found her greatest joy in caring for her grandchildren.

Janet passed away on Sunday, January 4, 2026, at the St. Anthony Hospital in Carroll at the age of 86 years, one month and 22 days. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert “Bob” Beeck; infant grandson, Dakota Beeck; and sister, JoyDean Baak.

Janet is survived by three children: Trevis (Laura) of Denison, Justin (Tiffany) of Waukee and Paige of Ankeny; ten grandchildren: Taelor Beeck, Alexa (Luke) Lenhart, Destry (Sami) Beeck, Tyler Beeck, Abigail Beeck, Kyleigh Beeck, Trinity Shannon, Tyla Shannon, Tresten Shannon and Tenley Shannon; two great-grandchildren: Lainey Lenhart and Nash Lenhart and one on the way; sister, Marliss “Marti” Lenz of Omaha, Nebraska; siblings-in-law: Lorraine Beeck, Judy Strandburg, Jane (Doug) Dowty, Lorna Gilmore and Barb Beeck; many nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.

Visitation with family and friends will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Schleswig. Her funeral service will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, January 8, 2026, also at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Schleswig with burial to follow in the Morgan Cemetery.
