Schleswig

John Michael Webb was born on June 26, 1956, to John and Elizabeth "Betty" (Lammers) Webb in Osmond, Nebraska. He attended Danbury Catholic School through the eighth grade and graduated from Maple Valley High School with the Class of 1974. Following graduation, he held various jobs throughout the area.

On February 8, 1986, John was united in marriage with Starla Plough at the United Church of Christ in Schleswig. Two children, Justin and Brooke, were born to this union.

John worked for many years at Flanigan Grain in Mapleton. He later worked for Schuster Trucking Co. of Le Mars, where he spent the final 15 years of his career before retiring in January 2019.

John enjoyed snowmobiling with Justin, especially their trips to the mountains. He also enjoyed golfing with his buddies, watching NASCAR races on television, and spending Saturday afternoons with friends. A huge Dale Earnhardt fan, John rarely missed a race and proudly followed his favorite driver throughout the years. He was a devoted fan of western television shows. Above all, John cherished the time he spent with his family and grandchildren.

John passed away on Sunday, June 14, 2026, at Crawford County Memorial Hospital, surrounded by his family, having attained the age of 69 years, 11 months, and 19 days. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Betty Webb.
