Keith E. Stoltze

February 18, 1960 — July 14, 2022

Keith Edwin Stoltze was born February 18, 1960, to Robert and Elaine (Neddermeyer) Stoltze in Sioux City, Iowa. Keith died peacefully surrounded by his loving family on July 14, 2022. He was baptized and confirmed at St. John's Lutheran Church in Charter Oak where he was a lifelong member.

With a strong faith in Christ, Keith waged a ten-year battle against cancer with courage, gracefulness and a positive attitude at all times. When asked how he was, his response was always a smiling "I'm good."

Keith graduated from Charter Oak-Ute Community School in 1978. After graduation he attended Huron College in South Dakota with a football scholarship, transferring a year later to Iowa State University, graduating in 1982 with a BS in Agricultural Business.

Keith farmed with his parents until he could no longer farm. He was dedicated to the agricultural profession serving on the Pork Producers Board and ISU Extension Council, and mentoring his nephews.

Keith cherished his family and friends and was cherished in return by them all. He loved to travel with family and friends, traveling nationally and internationally. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and participated in dart leagues winning many competitions!

After leaving farming, Keith continued gardening and worked on becoming a great cook. He shared his bounty and creations at every family gathering. Never one to be idle, Keith always had projects going: whether it be putting a pond in on his property, restoring an old building, updating his house, or fixing things that were broken.

Cherishing his memory are his siblings Robert Jr. (Annette), their children, Jamie (Jenna), Jason, Matthew (Kristin) and their grandchildren Tyler, Trevor and Carter; Lois (widow of Daniel), their children Anne, Sonya and Daniel, and their grandchildren, Amelie and Jameson; Bruce (Celeste), their children, Bruce Jr, Andrew (Suzanne), David, Michael and John, and their grandchildren, Mason, Lydia, June, Zara, Benjamin, Vera and Alice; Susan (Randy), their daughter Jennifer (Jared), and their grandchildren, Gabriel and Brigid; Nancy (Terry), Nancy's children, Laura (Jason), Catherine and Elizabeth, and their granddaughters, Isabella, Olivia and Jordyn; his aunt, Eva Wickert; and his many relatives and friends. Preceding him in death are his parents, Robert and Elaine Stoltze, and brothers William and Daniel.

Keith's family would like to thank all of the medical professionals who helped Keith with his battle against cancer. This includes caregivers at the University of Iowa Hospitals, Bliss Cancer Center, Mary Greeley Hospital, Crawford County Memorial Hospital, Israel Family Hospice House, GraceWell, and Crawford County Hospice.
