Kevin Russell Boeck

July 20, 1950 — May 27, 2022

Kevin Russell Boeck was born July 20, 1950, in Denison, Iowa, the son Russell and Marian (Pautsch) Boeck. He passed away at home Friday, May 27, 2022, at the age of 71 surrounded by his loving wife and family members.

Kevin grew up in Denison, attended Zion Lutheran Church with his family, was confirmed there and remained a lifelong member. He received his education in the Denison Community School system, graduating with the class of 1968. He then joined the United States Army National Guard from 1969 to 1975.

On February 17, 1973, Kevin was united in marriage to Linda Jean Kuhlmann at Zion Lutheran Church. The couple made their home outside of Denison, raised two children and worked together to build a farm and Kevin's trucking business.

Over a 50-year career, Kevin drove more than 5.5 million accident-free miles across the United States, including 3.3 million miles for Farmland over 28 years. He received many acknowledgements, awards and accolades. Kevin valued loyalty and hard work and expected the same of others. He enjoyed nothing more than returning home to Linda to try one of her new recipes. He had a wry sense of humor and enjoyed friendly banter with family and friends. Once he was home, he didn't like going out, but he was a welcoming and generous host. Your drink was always full and no one ever left their home hungry. Linda passed away in December 2012.

Kevin welcomed Jeanie Kolln Goslar into his life, and they were married in Des Moines on February 26, 2022. Jeanie was Kevin's constant companion and dedicated caregiver, providing him loving support during his battle with cancer. In his final days, Kevin's spirits were lifted greatly by visits from family, reminiscing with friends and seeing his grandchildren.

He took time to think about all the places he'd been and all the people he met, sharing those recollections with those around him. Constants throughout his life were Peterbilt, John Deere and Merle Haggard. He could rarely identify people in old photos but he could always tell you the make and model of the car or tractor in the background, and who owned it.

Preceding Kevin in death were his beloved Linda, at the age of 62; his parents; and his parents-in-law, Wilbur and Betty Marth Kuhlmann; Jeanie's parents, Ray and Melba (Winsor) Kolln and her sister, Monica.

Survivors include his wife, Jeanie; one daughter, Melissa Kaub and her husband Hal; and one son, Joel Boeck and his wife, Angel; all of Denison; step-daughter, Amanda Mohr and her husband Kevin of Urbandale; six grandchildren: Wyatt, Maci, Mylie and Stetson Kaub; Jaelynn and Aiyden Boeck; two step-grandsons, Lincoln and Ethan Mohr; one sister, Jean Heiden and her husband, Jerry of Denison; three brothers, Dale Boeck and his wife, Phyllis of Wellington, Colorado; Mike Boeck and his wife, LeAnn of Freeport, Illinois; and Mark Boeck and his partner, Michael of Ames, Iowa; one brother-in-law, Donald Kuhlmann and his wife, Teri, of Charter Oak; brother-in-law, Lonny Kolln of Denison and sister-in-law, Myrna Robinson and her husband Dan of Ames; several nieces and nephews; many great nieces and great nephews; cousins, along with many other relatives and friends.
