Larry Lee “Pudd” Pedersen was born on October 12, 1949, to Lawrence and Irene (Olson) Pedersen in Denison, Iowa. He was baptized at Soldier Lutheran Church. He graduated from Charter Oak-Ute High School with the Class of 1967.

Larry served his country in the United States Army as a heavy transportation driver from June 4, 1969, until his honorable discharge on May 24, 1971. Following his service, he moved to Tempe, Arizona, where he worked as an automotive mechanic.

On October 10, 1981, Larry was united in marriage to Janet Wacheldorf; the couple later divorced. In 2001, he returned to Ute, Iowa, where he continued his career at Mr. Tire until his retirement many years later.

Larry enjoyed spending time with friends, especially gathering for drinks at SpareTime in Ute. He was known for his great spinach dip and the time he shared with those around him. He will be fondly remembered for the Donald Duck voice he loved to do for children.

Larry passed away at his home on Friday, April 10, 2026, at the age of 76 years, five months, and 29 days. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his siblings Howard, Connie, Rick, Leo, and Sharon.

He is survived by his nephews, Jake (Arielle) Pedersen of Council Bluffs and Brent (DeeDee) Pedersen of Texas; great-nieces and great-nephews, Macy, Aiden, and Riley Pedersen and Matthew and Peyton Pedersen; as well as extended family members and friends.

Memorial Services will be held on Thursday, April 16, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Huebner Funeral Home in Denison. Inurnment with military honors will follow at Soldier Lutheran Cemetery near Soldier. Memorials may be directed to the family.
