Linda Lee Dreibelbis

March 26, 1938 — October 5, 2022

Linda Lee Dreibelbis, daughter of Linn and Martha (Aberhart) Wingrove was born on March 26, 1938 in Denison, Iowa. She was baptized and confirmed in the Dow City Methodist Church. She graduated from the Dow City Public School.

After graduation, she attended Iowa Methodist Medical School of Nursing where she graduated with her Registered Nursing Degree. During nursing school, Linda met Charles Dreibelbis and on November 29, 1959, they were united in marriage in Dow City, Iowa. The couple settled in Ames, Bancroft, Orange City, Red Oak, and Manilla, Iowa, before moving to Denison in 1974.

Linda worked in various hospitals before moving to Denison. She was an Obstetrics Nurse at Crawford County Memorial Hospital, IBP Plant Nurse, and then Crawford County Home Health.

She enjoyed scrapbooking, genealogy, and was a master gardener. She had a strong faith and cherished her family more than anything. Following retirement, she held a term on the Crawford County Memorial Hospital Board, member of the Red Hat Society, and Philanthropic Educational Organization for Women. Linda and Charles loved to travel and watch Broadway shows. They had a passion for their animals, especially their dogs.

Linda passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 5, 2022 at the Crawford County Memory Hospital in Denison, attaining the age of 84 years, 6 months, and 9 days. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles Dreibelbis; sister, Jan White; and brother Frank Wingrove.

Left to cherish her memory are two daughters: Anita and her husband, Jeff Furnald of Grimes and Jennifer and her husband, Tim Kropf of Denison; three sons: Richard Dreibelbis and his wife, Rose of Sioux City, Steve Dreibelbis and his wife, Lynda of East Dubuque, Illiniois, and Craig Dreibelbis and his wife, Robbin of Valley, Nebraska; twenty-three grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; sister, Cheri and her husband, Jim Humphrey of Omaha, Nebraska; her faithful furry companion, Lilly; and other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 10, 2022 with a Celebration of Life to follow at 11:00 a.m. all at Grace E-Free Church in Denison. Burial will be in Dow City Cemetery in Dow City. Memorials may be directed to the family.
