Lois M. Goslar was born May 21, 1935, in Johnson County Iowa. She passed away Thursday, November 2, 2017, at the Denison Care Center in Denison, Iowa at the age of eighty-two.
At the age of 4 months, Lois came to live with and was adopted by Herman and Emma Quandt, and their son, Melvin. On July 21, 1935, Lois was baptized at Lutheran Home Finding Society, in Fort Dodge, Iowa by Rev. Becker. She attended country school Hanover No. 4 and St. John’s Lutheran School in Charter Oak, Iowa. She was confirmed April 10, 1949, at St. John’s Lutheran Church. For the next several years, Lois worked for various households in Denison.
On October 17, 1954, she was united in marriage to Edward C. Goslar Jr., at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Charter Oak. To this union four children were born: Debra, Timothy, Nancy and Patricia. Her hobbies included gardening, sewing and cooking. She also enjoyed raising sheep and spending time with her cats.
Lois was preceded in death by her husband Edward in 1997; one daughter, Debra in 2015; one granddaughter, Jennifer in 1982; one son-in-law, Kyle; her parents; in-laws, Ed and Lena; sisters and brothers-in-law. Survivors include: one son, Tim and his wife, Diane; two daughters: Nancy and her husband, Vernon; and Patty; eleven grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; one son-in-law, Ron; one brother, Melvin; other relatives and friends.
