Lucille M. Dierenfield was born May 5, 1931 to the late John and Margaret (Krayenhagen) Segebart at their home in rural Crawford County, Iowa. She had two brothers and two sisters: Elvin, Helen, Ruth and Robert. Lucille was baptized in Christ and later confirmed her faith in 1945 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Galva, Iowa.
She grew up around the Ida Grove and Galva area and attended country school by Ida Grove. After high school, she worked and stayed for a short time in Sioux City.
On July 25, 1954, Lucille was united in marriage to Ralph Dierenfield in Ida Grove, Iowa. To this union, two sons and one daughter were born. Besides raising three children, she managed the books for their feed business in Westside and Schleswig.
Lucille was a hardworking and loving mother who enjoyed sewing and was a fabulous cook. Her favorite pastimes were vacationing in Okoboji at the cabin with her children and grandchildren and seeing the country with trips to Canada and Mexico.
She was a devoted Lutheran, serving many years as a Ladies Aid. She was also Boy Scout Leader in Wahoo where they lived for three years. She loved her farm home in Schleswig and enjoyed watching Christian Worship Hour. Lucille was an amazing mother who was always so thoughtful and caring.
Lucille passed away August 1, 2021 at UnityPoint Health - St. Luke's Hospital in Sioux City, Iowa attaining the age of ninety years, two months and twenty-seven days. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Ralph Dierenfield; two brothers: Bob and Elvin; two sisters: Ruth and Helen.
She leaves behind two sons: Randy Dierenfield and his wife Karen, Steven Dierenfield and his wife Sheryl; one daughter: Nancy Dierenfield; eleven grandchildren, great-grandchildren and many friends.
She was a blessing to many and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Visitation is 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. on Friday, August 6, 2021 at the Huebner Funeral Home in Schleswig. Graveside service is 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 7, 2021 in the Morgan Cemetery in Schleswig. Memorials may be directed to the family.
