Lucille Waldron

Lucille W. M. Waldron was born April 10, 1923, the daughter of William and Christine Hadenfeld Wittmaack. She died Friday, September 10, 2010, at Olathe Medical Center, Olathe, Kansas, at the age of eighty-seven.
Lucille was born in Schleswig, Iowa. She was baptized in Christ at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Schleswig on May 27, 1923, and confirmed on March 21, 1937. She began her education in a country school near her home and then attended Zion Lutheran School in Denison, Iowa, from third through eighth grade. She graduated from Denison High School with the class of 1941.
On December 22, 1944, Lucille was united in marriage to Keith Waldron at the Lutheran Church parsonage in Tampa, Florida. The couple settled there for a short time before Keith continued his service to his country in WWII. They were blessed with the birth of two sons. She worked as a telegraph operator with the Union Pacific Railroad through WWII. Eventually the couple settled in Denison where she was employed at the Denison Newspapers.
She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family. She also liked sewing. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary in Schleswig. She was also a member of Zion Lutheran Church where she belonged to the Dorcas Society.
Lucille was preceded in death by her parents in 2003; her husband, Keith in 2003; one brother, Melvin ; and one nephew, Danny. Survivors include two sons: Brent and his wife, Connie; Randy and his wife, Sandy; seven grandchildren: Noelle, Nathan, Kelly, Ryan, Brooke, Matthew and Drew; two great-grandsons, Dylanand Sean ; one sister, Delores and her husband, Glen; one sister-in-law, Norma ; nieces, nephews and friends.
