Magda Head

Magda Luise Head was born on October 3, 1940, in Berlin, Germany, to Wilhelm and Luise (Friedrich) Schach. As a child, she moved with her family to the United States and was raised in Ohio. Following her marriage to Trines “Ray” Head, the couple made their home in California. After Ray's passing in 1994, Magda relocated to Denison, Iowa, where she could be closer to her sister, Renate, and her family.

Magda cherished her family and was always willing to help anyone in need. Her kindness, generosity, and caring nature touched the lives of many.

Magda passed away at her home in Denison, Iowa, on Thursday, June 18, 2026, at the age of 85 years, 8 months and 15 days. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ray Head; brother, Siegfred Schach; and brother-in-law, Anthony Leo Olhava, Jr.

Left to cherish her memory are her sister, Renate Olhava of Des Moines; her sister-in-law; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; her cat, Gabby; nieces and nephews; her hospice care family; and many other relatives, friends, and neighbors.

Magda was deeply loved by her family, who wish to extend their heartfelt gratitude to St. Croix Hospice for the compassionate care and support they provided.
