Marna Kathleen (Hocamp) Wiebers, age 75, passed away on May 30, 2026, at Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha.
Marna was born March 21, 1951, the daughter of Glen and Norine (Wedemeyer) Hocamp. She grew up on a farm in Audubon County, Iowa, where she was baptized and confirmed at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Adair. She attended Exira Community Schools, graduating with the class of 1969. Following graduation, she attended Thompson Beauty School in Des Moines, earning her cosmetology license in May of 1970, and began her career at the Powder Puff Beauty Salon in Atlantic, Iowa.
On September 27, 1970, Marna was united in marriage to Earl (Butch) Wiebers Jr. at St. John’s Lutheran Church near Adair. In 1971, the family purchased a home in Deloit. They were blessed with a son, Matthew, and a daughter, Angela. Marna later operated the Corner Cut & Curl beauty shop from their home until 1990, when they purchased a farm east of Denison. Marna went on to serve the Denison Job Corps Center for 16 years as the Career Technical Training Secretary before retiring. She later shared her talents as a substitute hairdresser at Dorothy’s Hairstyling.
Marna was a devoted member of Zion Lutheran Church, the Zion Altar Guild, and the Vail Redhats. Family was her greatest joy. Marna and Butch loved polka dancing in the early days. She found contentment in sewing quilts, tending to flowers, caring for cats, and feeding the orioles and goldfinches that visited the yard. She enjoyed the fellowship of playing cards in several local clubs and was an enthusiastic Iowa State fan.
Marna was preceded in death by her husband, Butch; her parents, Glen and Norine Hocamp; brothers: Eugene and Gary Hocamp; sister, Barb Lutz; brother-in-law, Ervin Lutz; and parents-in-law, Earl and Ila Wiebers.
She is lovingly survived by her son, Matthew Wiebers of Plymouth, Minnesota; her daughter, Angela Wiebers and partner Sara Schwager of Defiance, Missouri; three grandsons, Elliott, Xavier, and Graeme; her in-laws: Marilyn Hocamp of Exira, Richard and Joann Coil of Evergreen, Colorado and Al and Judy Hays of Marshalltown; many beloved nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.
Visitation with family and friends will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, at the Huebner Funeral Home in Denison. Her funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, June 4, 2026, at Zion Lutheran Church in Denison. Interment will follow in Crawford Heights Memory Gardens. Memorials may be directed to Zion Lutheran Church.
