Mary Darlene Annette Murillo was born September 12, 1960, in Denison, Iowa, the daughter of Raymond and Mary Carey. She passed away Friday, January 25, 2019, at the Crawford County Memorial Hospital in Denison, Iowa, at the age of fifty-eight.
Mary received her education in the Denison Community Schools, graduating with the Class of 1978. She was employed as a cook at the Eatmore Caf in Denison until it closed in 1993. She then was employed at Farmland for many years and subsequently worked for Custom Ribs in Denison. She had also been employed as a cook at Cheetas in Schleswig, Cronk’s Restaurant and Kentucky Fried Chicken in Denison.
Decorating for the holidays, inside and out, brought her much delight. She enjoyed baking, cooking, gardening especially tulips, and watching The Young and the Restless and various game shows on television. She enjoyed visiting with friends and always had a smile. Her grandchildren were very special to her and she was a very loving grandmother.
Mary was preceded in death by her father, Raymond; one sister, Lagene; and an infant brother, Ray Jr. Survivors include: one daughter, Ashley and her husband, Salvador; two sons, William and his friend, Brianna and Patrick Carey and his wife, Sofoianas; ten grandchildren; her mother, Mary; one brother, Ronald and his wife, Tisha; one sister, Teresa and her special friend, Bill; one brother-in-law, Tim; other relatives and friends.
