Neva Beymer

October 4, 1933 — August 11, 2026

Neva LeAnn Beymer was born on October 4, 1933, in Lincoln Township near Radcliffe, Iowa, the daughter of Leo and Myrtle (Hetland) Davis. She was one of four children born to this union. Neva grew up near Radcliffe and Ellsworth and attended school in Ellsworth, where she graduated from high school.

After high school, Neva began working as a waitress alongside her sister, Donna, in Webster City. It was there that she met the love of her life, Raymond Beymer. The couple was united in marriage on July 10, 1955, at the Church of Christ in Webster City. They were blessed with three children, Dennis, Connie, and Kevin, and made their home in Denison. Neva devoted her time to raising their children and caring for her family. Later, she returned to the workforce, working at Fred’s Café and later at Eventide in Denison for 13 years. She also enjoyed selling Avon for many years throughout the Denison area.

Neva was a member of the Church of Christ in Denison, Denison Calvary Baptist Church, and Grace Evangelical Free Church in Denison. She was actively involved in her church communities, teaching Bible study and Bible school, helping with funeral meals, and volunteering with the Baptist Church’s annual free Thanksgiving dinner for many years.

Neva had many hobbies and interests that brought her great joy. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, and sewing, and made many clothes throughout the years. Neva especially loved teaching others how to crochet. She and Raymond also enjoyed attending craft shows together. Raymond enjoyed woodworking, and Neva would paint many of the smaller items he made. Together, they enjoyed attending craft shows and selling their creations.

She had a love for flowers and enjoyed tending to her raised flower beds, as well as doing a little vegetable gardening. She also took great pride in caring for her houseplants and enjoyed reading. Neva cherished staying connected with her friends and family through phone calls and visits, and she especially treasured the time she spent with her grandchildren.

Neva passed away on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, at the Denison Care Center in Denison at the age of 92 years, 10 months, and 7 days.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Raymond Beymer; her brother, Larry Davis; her sisters, Donna Wilhelm and Verla Klaver; and her granddaughters, Kristie Lansink and Esther Ramirez.
