Paetyn Therese Feilmeier, daughter of Jeff and Micki (Sievers) Feilmeier, was born on September 9, 2008, in Carroll, Iowa. She was baptized at St. Ann Catholic Church in Vail. She attended Ar-We-Va elementary school and then went on to attend Carroll middle school.
Paetyn was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church. Paetyn was active in her family activities; and ever-present supportive cheerleader of her siblings' events. She enjoyed social events, some of her favorites were vacation bible school, library programs, community club events, and helping at St. Ann's. She enjoyed the time and therapies she received at Timber Creek. Her special personality came to life as she listened to music; her favorites ranged from VBS "Shine, Shine, Shine", to KISS, to Disney soundtracks. She loved to play family games, especially Mexican Train Dominoes, UNO, Trash, Qwirkle, and Aggravation. She kept busy playing Barbies, building Legos, and doing creative projects. She loved Looney Tunes; her playful and teasing personality made herself a bit of a looney tune. Above all, spending time with her immediate and extended family is what Paetyn enjoyed the most.
Paetyn was born with a unique brain structure that caused her cerebral palsy and delayed development. This condition only led to her special Paetyn ways. She may have been delayed in some growth and development, but it did not diminish her love for everyone around her. In April 2022, Paetyn received the rare diagnoses of both kidney cancer and a sinus neuroblastoma. She kept the medical teams on their toes with her unique response to meds and therapies. On May 27, 2022 she received the sacraments of First Communion and Confirmation at Children's Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska.
Though her fight with cancer had her in and out of the hospital, she was able to come home where she passed away, surrounded by her family on Saturday, October 8, 2022 at the age of 14 years and 29 days.
Paetyn was preceded in death by her grandpa, Al Feilmeier; great-grandparents, Mick and Grace Hess; aunt, Judi Gardner; and great-great aunt, Glee and uncle, Ron. Left to cherish her memory are her parents, Jeff and Micki Feilmeier of Westside; her siblings: Travis Feilmeier of Tennant, Kylie Feilmeier of Ames, and Rheanne Feilmeier of Westside; paternal grandma, Irene Feilmeier of Westside; maternal grandparents, Dale and Janet Sievers of Omaha; many aunts and uncles, cousins, and other family and friends.
