Patricia Jean Auen

September 22, 1945 — July 4, 2022

Patricia "Pat" Jean Auen was born September 22, 1945 in Denison, the daughter of Orville and Madonna (Hansen) Christiansen. She was baptized on October 14, 1945 by Fr. E. F. Casey and later confirmed her faith on May 13, 1955, both at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Denison. She graduated from the Denison High School.

On December 21, 1968, Patricia was united in marriage with Stephen Tierney. To this union, they were blessed with two children: Chris and Sara. They made their home in Denison.

Patricia was employed at Becky's Hallmark, Manning Regional Hospital, Boys & Girls Home, and Job Corp during her lifetime. She spent most of her years counseling and helping others through hardships. She would often invite others into her home when they were in need.

She enjoyed the outdoors. Her outdoor hobbies included: rock collecting, tending to her flowers, and most importantly her birds and "pet" squirrels. She also loved to take old furnishing and bring them back to life with her colorful style. You could always find Pat singing or dancing to one of her favorite songs as she loved music. But most of all, she cherished her family, especially her grandchildren and her best friend Noodle.

She was an amazingly strong willed and witty mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend who will be dearly missed.

Patricia passed away on Monday, July 4, 2022 at the Crawford County Memorial Hospital in Denison, attaining the age of seventy-six years, nine months, and twelve days. She was preceded in death by her parents Orville and Madonna Christiansen; one brother, Ted Christiansen; four sisters: LaDonna Christiansen in infancy, Teresa Monroe, Becky Engel, and Marita Lingle; two brothers-in-law: Larry Voss and Allen Lingle; one nephew, Jeff Lingle; one niece, Pennie Lingle; and a special grandson, Brooks Christopher Luft.

She is survived by one son, Chris Tierney and his wife Jennifer of Gretna, Nebraska and their children: Tylar Tierney (Nicole), Tanner Tierney (Sydnie), and Kaitlyn Tierney all of Gretna, Nebraska; one daughter, Sara and her husband Dr. Michael Luft of Denison; their children: Johnathan Pauley (Dalia) of Denison, Sierra Pauley of Los Angeles, California, Jade Pauley (Samantha), Jaxson Pauley, Ella Luft, Stevie Luft, Maverick Luft, Dr. Patrick Luft (Maria) all of Denison, Mashayla Hanson (Eric), Joey Luft (Emily), Jacob Luft (Paige), and Owen Luft all of Ankeny; siblings: Kay Voss of Omaha, Nebraska, Debbie Greene (Dan) of Storm Lake, Kelli Christiansen of Blair, Nebraska, Kristi Bell (Jim) of Gretna, Nebraska, Beth Vogt (Russ) of Gretna, Nebraska, and Kathy Kahl (Gary) Denison; other relatives and friends.
