Rev. Kenneth Baughman

Rev. Kenneth Ray Baughman was born July 18, 1944, the son of Harry and Veda Edmonds Baughman. He passed away October 5, 2010, at the Veterans Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska, at the age of sixty-six.
Kenneth was born in Ponca City, Oklahoma, where he received his education, graduating from Ponca City High School with the class of 1963. When he was younger, he worked as a greenskeeper. Following graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force where he served for more than seven years. After he received his honorable discharge, he was self-employed in the electronics industry. He attended Phillips University in Enid, Oklahoma, graduating in 1980, after which he enrolled in the University of Dubuque Theological Seminary and graduated in 1985. The churches he was blessed to serve were in Tonkawa, Oklahoma; Center Junction, Iowa; Tulsa, Oklahoma; and then Charter Oak and Ute, Iowa.
He was united in marriage to Dena Belville in Las Vegas, Nevada, in 1968. On January 7, 1984, he married Ada Wismeier. The couple made their home in Center Junction, Iowa. His wife passed away August 5, 1995. Kenneth moved to Charter Oak in May of 1998.
He was a loving and devoted husband. He enjoyed a variety of activities including golfing, fishing and assembling model naval boats. He was member of the United Methodist Church and various organizations.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Ada; one brother, Vern Baughman; and one sister, Kay Baughman. Survivors include one sister, Carol Duckwall and her husband, George of Stillwater, Oklahoma; one brother, Donald Baughman and his wife, Veda of Grand Junction, Colorado; three stepsons: Carl Wismeier and his wife, Dawn; Ted Wismeier and his wife, Jennifer; and Tim Wismeier and his wife, Tieaga; three stepdaughters: Laura Shanks and her husband, Robert; Annie Hammond and her husband, Steve; and Molly Wismeier; 13 stepgrandchildren; one step-great-grandchild; one sister-in-law, Nell Baughman; many nieces, nephews and friends.
