Raymond George “Rick” Kock, Jr. was born on August 3, 1946, the son of Raymond Kock, Sr. and Helen (Henkelman) Kock, at St. Anthony Hospital in Carroll, Iowa. He was baptized, received his First Communion and later confirmed at St. Ann Catholic Church in Vail, where he remained a lifelong member. He was a faithful servant to God, the church and his community. Rick received his education at Ar-We-Va and graduated with the class of 1965.
In the summer of 1965, Rick started work for Pepsi-Cola Bottling Company in Carroll for more than 55 years, retiring in 2020 after a long and dedicated career. Throughout his years with Pepsi, he was able to enjoy trips to Las Vegas, Miami and New York in recognition of his many years of dedication and service. One memorable experience was ringing the bell at the New York Stock Exchange as part of the celebration of his years with Pepsi.
Rick was a member of the Hayes Township Schuetzen Verein and especially enjoyed attending King Shoot. He had a quiet and easygoing nature and was an avid fan of the Iowa Hawkeyes, Dallas Cowboys and Ar-We-Va Rockets. He also never turned down a nice, cold Budweiser. Rick treasured family vacations to Okoboji, a tradition his family enjoyed together for more than 30 years. Above all, he cherished time with his family and was known by many of his nieces and nephews as “the best uncle ever.”
