Roger Carlin Jensen was born in Exira Iowa on October 9th , 1938. On February 1st, 1959 he married his high school sweetheart Delores Soll of Irwin, Iowa. They had 3 sons Carlin, Curtis & Craig. Roger graduated from Gray, Iowa in 1957. In Roger’s younger years he enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling and gardening. Later in life, he enjoyed working on his rentals and going to McDonalds in the mornings to visit with friends. He enjoyed the friendship of his dog, “Bear” while at home.
Roger worked at Iowa Beef Processors (IBP) for over 30 years and was one of the people that helped build the plant located in Denison, Iowa. While living in Manilla, he worked as part-time police officer. After retiring from IBP he purchased and operated 2 trucks, hauling products from Iowa to Florida and Illinois. After trucking he worked as a lab technician for American Protein.
During Roger and Delores‘s 58 years of marriage they were blessed with 3 sons, 4 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Carlin and his wife Holly, live in San Jose, California and have 2 children, James and Jackie. Curtis and his wife Brenda, live in Denison, Iowa and have a daughter, Brittany. Craig lives in Denison, Iowa and has a daughter Lisa. Lisa and her husband Brandon live in Carroll, Iowa and have 2 children, Zayden and Leilamae.
Roger was preceded in death by his father John W. Jensen, his mother Irene Jensen, his brothers Michael and John C. Jensen. Roger is survived by his wife Delores, sister Joene Bohlmann and sons Carlin, Curtis and Craig.
