Roger Harm was born on May 21, 1943, to Wilbur and Anna (Petersen) Harm in Denison, Iowa. He was baptized and later confirmed his faith at Zion Lutheran Church in Denison. He grew up on a farm and attended rural schools in Hanover Township. Roger graduated from Denison High School with the class of 1961. He served his country as a member of the Iowa National Guard and was honorably discharged in 1970.
On June 4, 1966, Roger was united in marriage to Donna Kuhl at Zion Lutheran Church in Manning, Iowa. They were blessed with the birth of two sons: Craig and Brent. They raised their family on a farm in Hanover Township. The couple moved to Schleswig in 2014.
He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Schleswig, having served a term as an Elder. Faith and family were the important things in his life, followed closely by friends and farm.
Roger passed away at Eventide Lutheran Home on October 11, 2021, at the age 78 years, four months and 20 days.
Roger was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Russell Harm. He is survived by his wife, Donna Harm of Schleswig; two sons: Craig (K'Lynn) Harm of Denison and Brent (Sarah) Harm of Ida Grove; four grandchildren: Alex (Tammie) Harm of Schleswig, Kara Harm (Ryan Ferguson) of Ankeny, Sawyer Harm of Ida Grove, and Hildie Harm of Ida Grove; two great-grandchildren: Harley and Henessey; brother, Gene (Sherry) Harm of California; brother-in-law, Glen (Cheryl) Kuhl of Arizona; and many other relatives and friends.
The visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on October 14, 2021, at Huebner Funeral Home in Schleswig. The funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on October 15, 2021, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Schleswig. Burial will be in Morgan Cemetery near Schleswig. Memorials may be directed to the family.
