Ruby Paulina Christina Duncan

March 5, 1915 — October 22, 2021

Ruby Paulina Christina (Hass) Duncan was born March 5, 1915 on a farm near Manning, Iowa. As a four-year-old, she moved with her parents, Edward and Ella (Sievertsen) Hass to Minnesota where they went to homestead land. Her father became ill with TB and died when she was 9. She moved back to the Manning area and then to Denison when she was 11. She attended Zion Lutheran School and graduated from Denison High School with the class of 1933. Ruby married David Duncan, and they had four children.

Ruby worked various jobs during her lifetime. She was a kind and loving lady. Everyone was welcome at her house; she always had a treat for the neighborhood kids and every stray animal that came to her door was fed. She was able to live in her own home until she was 102 before residing at Eventide where she died on Friday, October 22, 2021.

Ruby was preceded in death by her husband: David in 1997; two sons: Chuck and Keith Duncan; son-in-law: Kenneth Lueck; granddaughter: Amy Duncan; two grandsons: Chuck and Dan Lueck; and her siblings: Warren Hass and Delpha Houlihan. She is survived by her son: David Duncan; daughter: Barbara Lueck; two daughters-in-law: Sharon and Roxana Duncan; 12 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and 9 great-great-grandchildren.
