Mearl Perrien

Mearl Kenneth Mark Perrien was born February 27, 1952, the son of Roy Perrien and Leone Fineran Perrien. He passed away peacefully in his sleep on Wednesday, October 6, 2010, after battling ALS in the Dallas Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Dallas, Texas, at the age of fifty-eight.
Mearl was born in Denison, Iowa. He received his education at St. Rose of Lima Elementary School in Denison and graduated from Denison High School with the class of 1970. Mearl served three years active duty in the US Navy and then ten years in the USN Reserve. His honors included National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal & Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal. He worked for Petersen Manufacturing in Denison and Cintas Uniform Company in Dallas, Texas.
Mearl was best known for his outgoing personality. All through life he never met a stranger he didnt like. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend, always taking time to make new friends and visit old family and friends when he was around. He enjoyed singing and listening to music, golfing, traveling, telling stories of the good ol days. He especially liked doing these things with his family and friends.
Mearl was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Leone Perrien; three brothers: Joe Perrien, Gerald Perrien and P.J. Perrien. Survivors include his wife, Judy of Desoto, Texas; one daughter, Mardi Council of Wall Lake, Iowa; two sons: Nate Perrien and his wife, Sarah of Red Oak, Iowa; and Andrew Perrien of Papillion, Nebraska; two stepsons: James and Quinn Martin, both of Dallas, Texas; seven grandchildren: two brothers: Charles Perrien of Papillion, Nebraska; and Ronald Perrien and his wife, Carol of Lebanon, Oregon; two sisters: Fran Merriam of Boone, Iowa; and Marjorie Grant and her husband, Artie of Schleswig, Iowa; numerous other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
