Delores Riessen

Delores Lorraine Jeschke Riessen was born June 2, 1928, the daughter of Bernhart and Frieda Clausen Jeschke. She died on Thursday, April 1, 2010, at the Crawford County Memorial Hospital in Denison, Iowa, at the age of eighty-one.
Delores was born on a farm in Soldier Township. She was baptized in Christ on July 1, 1928, by Pastor Runge and later confirmed on April 6, 1941, by Pastor H.A. Wagner at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Hanover Township. She received her education in a rural school near her home. On February 5, 1950, Delores was united in marriage to Earnie Martin Riessen at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Hanover Township. They made their home on various farms in the Schleswig area and were blessed with the birth of three children.
Delores was a waitress at several restaurants, especially Angies Cafe in Denison. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She did a lot of volunteer work especially for Eventide Lutheran Home and loved socializing with everyone. In her leisure time she enjoyed playing cards and Bingo. Her children and grandchildren were a very important part of her life; she never missed a birthday or anniversary. She will be missed but will always be in our hearts.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Earnie in 2004. Survivors include her children: Robert Riessen and his wife, Marlane of Bennett, Colorado; Rebecca Hanlin and her husband, Richard of Schleswig; Russell Riessen and his wife, Cindy of Dakota Dunes, South Dakota; eight grandchildren: Eric Riessen and his wife, Dana of Cary, North Carolina; Amber Kring and her husband, Dana of Strasburg, Colorado; Aaron Riessen and his wife, Catie of Commerce City, Colorado; Robbin Driebelbis and her husband, Craig of Gretna, Nebraska; Rana Quandt and her husband, Scott of Mt. Carmel; Ryan Hanlin and special friend, Christina Caldwell of Carroll; Heidi Mizer and her husband, Doug of Lawrence, Kansas; Haley Crowson and her husband, Jon of West Des Moines; and eleven great-grandchildren; three brothers: Marvin Jeschke and his wife, Ruth; Burdell Jeschke and his wife, Marilyn, all of Denison; Darlo Jeschke of Ida Grove; four sisters-in-law: Dorothy Riessen; Elfie Riessen, both of Schleswig; Reva Riessen of Storm Lake and Marion Riessen of Harlan; many other relatives and special friends.
