Bryce Argotsinger

Bryce Weber Argotsinger was born November 17, 1925, the son of Paul and Agnetta (Nettie) Weber Argotsinger. He died January 5, 2010, at the Dunlap Nursing & Rehab Center in Dunlap, Iowa, at the age of eighty-four.
Bryce was born in Arion, Iowa. He received his education in a rural school near Dow City and graduated from Dow City High School in 1944. He attended Graceland College in Lamoni, Iowa. On January 31, 1946, he enlisted in the United States Army where he served as a clerk typist. He was awarded a World War II Victory Medal and on April 22, 1947, received an Honorable Discharge. He was ordained as a minister of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ at the age of 16, and served both Dow City and Dunlap for many years, into the 1980s.
On June 20, 1948, he was united in marriage to Colleen Weiser in Council Bluffs, Iowa. The couple settled in Paradise Township, near Arion, where he continued to farm. They were blessed with the birth of four children.
He devoted his life to his family and worked hard on the farm. He built additions to the farm home and built a granary on the home farm. He enjoyed sports and was always interested in sporting events. His family even gave him an award for coaching his grandchildren. Everyone who knew him enjoyed his clever sense of humor and he was highly regarded in the community. He served on the Crawford County Extension Council.
Bryce was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife, Colleen; two sons: David and his wife, Kathy; Steven and his wife, Margie; two daughters: Ruth and her special friend, Al; Rebecca; ten grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one sister, Martha and her husband, Hal; one brother, Dale and his wife, Juanita; other relatives and friends.
