Joseph Wayne Bramley was born April 15, 1942, the son of Thomas and Lola Argotsinger Bramley. He died at the Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City, Iowa, January 4, 2010, at the age of sixty-seven.
Wayne was born in Charter Oak, and received his education in Paradise #2, and in the Dow City Community School. After completing his education he began working on the family farm. At the age of 16, Wayne continued his career as the primary operator of the farm after his father retired and turned over the farming operation to Wayne.
On November 28, 1970, Wayne was united in marriage to Sandra Pergande at Trinity Lutheran Church in Algona, Iowa, by Rev. Sohn. The couple made their home on the family farm in 1976 and were blessed with the birth of three children. In 1976 he began working at IBP while continuing to farm. He retired from farming in 1987 but continued working at IBP which later became Tyson Foods.
Wayne enjoyed visiting with his family and friends. He especially enjoyed his grandchildren and loved teasing them. Additionally, he was very fond of all the neighborhood children. In his leisure time, he would occupy the hours making crafts from wood and would frequently give his creations away. Items he made included: angels, stools, various toys, boosters and other nicknacks. He also liked rebuilding machinery. He was a John Deere man but was especially proud of an old Ford tractor he rebuilt. His favorite season was Christmas and he treasured giving gifts to his family. He was noted for spoiling his children and grandchildren. He liked watching the news on TV and could be found watching car races if not attending them at the Harlan and Denison race tracks.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers, Leland, Robert and Dwight. Survivors include his wife, Sandra; two daughters: Bridget and her husband, Julio; Gretchen and her husband, Michael; one son, Brad and his wife, Melanie; ten grandchildren: Alex, Hailey, Emory, Jacob, Sieranna, Nathanial, Tara, Sam, Lily and Noah; three brothers: Lloyd and his wife, Donna; Raymond and his wife, Opal; Donald and his wife, Ceil; one sister, Clara Mae and her husband, Max; one sister-in-law, Irma; other relatives and many friends.
