Marval Hartwig

January 1, 1916 — January 1, 1916

Marval Anna Keller Hartwig was born on January 1, 1916, at Denison, Iowa, the daughter of August Chris Keller and Nina Emma Comstock Keller. She died on Saturday, April 30, 2011, at Eventide Lutheran Home in Denison, Iowa, at the age of ninety-five.
Marval was raised in Denison where she attended the Denison Community School. She graduated from Denison High School in 1934.
On March 21, 1937, Marval was united in marriage to Herbert Hartwig at Arcadia, Iowa. They made their home on a farm in Goodrich Township. In 1953, when Herbs career with the Crawford County Bank began, they moved into Denison.
Marval was an active member of Zion Lutheran Church, Zion Ladies Aid, Zion Altar Guild, and Zion Quilting for Relief. She became a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Denison in 2009, due to the fact that her daughter and husband belonged there. Her love for God was always number one priority in her life and at this time she is rejoicing in a perfect body in the presence of her Savior and Christian family.
She enjoyed going to the family lake home at West Okoboji, Iowa, and being with friends and neighbors there. The lake home has been the family compound for many years. She also enjoyed tatting, knitting, quilting, and sewing.
In addition to her parents, Marval was preceded in death by her husband, Herb in 1979; one son, Larry in infancy in 1940; her brother, Warren, and sister, Mary.
Survivors include her daughter, Suzi and her husband, Jim; two nieces: Jann and her husband, Don; and Diane; one nephew, Chuck and his wife, Carol; other relatives and friends.
