Odilio Chacon nació el 30 de mayo de 1945, de Francisco y Francisca (Sanabria) Chacon en Guatemala. En sus primeros años, paso un tiempo trabajando en barcos. Odilio se mudo a California donde conoció al amor de su vida, Ellie Palma, el 3 de junio de 1976.

Odilio condujo semirremolques la mayor parte de su vida y disfrutaba viajar por el país. Le gustaba la jardinería y pasar tiempo al aire libre. Era creativo con todo tipo de materiales y disfrutaba de los nuevos inventos. Odilio y Ellie establecieron su hogar en Denison en 2011 y se convirtieron en miembros de la Iglesia Católica Santa Rose de Lima.

Odilio falleció en su casa el viernes 25 de marzo del 2022, a la edad de 76 años, nueve meses y 23 días.

Odilio fue precedido en la muerte por sus padres. Le sobreviven su esposa, Ellie Chacon de Denison; hijos: Milagro Borja de Florida, Jairon (Olga) Flores de Denison, Celeste Flores de Atlanta, Georgia, Ingrid Flores de Pennsylvania, y Jerry Chacon de Tampa, Florida; doce nietos; y otros familiares y amigos.

La misa de la cristiana sepultura será el martes, 29 de marzo del 2022 a la 2:00 pm en la Iglesia Católica de Santa Rose de Lima con la visita una hora antes. El entierro se llevará a cabo en el cementerio de Oakland en Denison. Los memoriales pueden estar dirigidos a la familia.


Odilio Chacon was born on May 30, 1945, to Francisco and Francisca (Sanabria) Chacon in Guatemala. In his early years, he spent time working on ships. Odilio moved to California and met the love of his life, Ellie Palma on June 3, 1976.

Odilio drove semi-trucks the majority of his life and enjoyed traveling the country. He enjoyed gardening and spending time outside. He was creative with all sorts of materials and enjoyed new inventions. Odilio and Ellie made their home in Denison in 2011 and became members of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church.

Odilio passed away at his home on Friday, March 25, 2022, at the age of 76 years, nine months and 23 days.

Odilio was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Ellie Chacon of Denison; children: Milagro Borja of Florida, Jairon (Olga) Flores of Denison, Celeste Flores of Atlanta, Georgia, Ingrid Flores of Pennsylvania, and Jerry Chacon of Tampa, Florida; 12 grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 29, 2022, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church with the visitation one hour prior. Interment will be held at Oakland Cemetery in Denison. Memorials may be directed to the family.
