He enjoyed stock market trading, studies, and an occasional visit to the local casinos.

Norman was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Margaret Henriette Bestmann. He is survived by his brother, Charles Henry Kiepe and his wife Mary of Louisville, Colorado; his nephews and nieces: Steven Kiepe and his wife Kathy of Berthoud, Colorado, Lynn Shook and her husband Barry, Robert Kiepe and his wife Denise, each of Louisville, Colorado, Alison Miller of Los Angeles, California, David Kiepe of Phoenix, Arizona, Allen Bestmann and his wife Patty of Lincoln, Nebraska, and Carolyn Bestmann of Papillion, Nebraska; as well as other relatives, members of the community and friends.
