There's one lesson I learned above many from Adam throughout the ten years we coached high school football together: You're never as good as you think you are, and you're never as bad as you think you are. Even though the last two seasons were "3rd and long" for Adam, and the clock now reads 0:00, the memories I have alongside Coach Burns under the Friday Night Lights, in the locker room, on long bus trips, and at countless practices, are authentic, irreplaceable, and the very reasons why football is so much more than a game. Rest easy, Coach. We will meet at the 50-yardline again. - John Torrey
